China Academy of Information and Communications Technology: By 2025, the scale of Chinas artificial intelligence industry will exceed 1.2 trillion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 40%.

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, on August 3, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) published a statement indicating that a systematic approach to monitoring the artificial intelligence industry will be carried out, quantifying the analysis of industry scale. This is of significant importance for promoting the high-quality development of China's artificial intelligence industry in a scientific and orderly manner and is regarded as an essential foundational task. The CAICT continues to conduct research on the artificial intelligence industry and has initiated calculations of the industry's scale for 2025. The estimates predict that by 2025, China's artificial intelligence industry scale will exceed 1.2 trillion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 40%. By June 2026, the number of artificial intelligence enterprises is expected to surpass 6,600, accounting for 15% of the global total, and a complete industrial system covering foundational infrastructure, model frameworks, and industry applications has been established.
