In late July, the social inventory of five major steel varieties in 21 cities reached 9.8 million tons, an increase of 180,000 tons month-on-month, up 1.9%, reflecting a slight rise in inventory; it increased by 2.59 million tons compared to the beginning of the year, up 35.9%; and increased by 1.95 million tons compared to the same period last year, up 24.8%.
