According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, which monitored 500 county-level wholesale markets and collection points, the national price for live pigs last week was 11.22 yuan/kg, a decrease of 2.0% compared to the previous week; the price for pork in wholesale markets was 20.90 yuan/kg, down 0.3% week-on-week. Monitoring and scheduling from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs covering 200 wholesale markets indicated that the average wholesale price for pork nationwide last week was 15.81 yuan/kg, a drop of 0.8% week-on-week and down 22.7% year-on-year. Experts analyze that last week, production entities and slaughtering enterprises increased their pace for market release, procurement, and slaughtering, resulting in ample market supply. Most regions in the country experienced high temperatures, and consumption was in the off-season, leading to a decline in prices for live pigs and pork. Looking ahead to the market, it is expected that live pig and pork prices will mainly undergo minor adjustments this week.
