On August 3, 2026, Wu Qing, Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, attended the listing ceremony of the 5-year RMB government bond futures at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and delivered a speech. In his address, Wu Qing proposed a series of new measures to further deepen practical cooperation and closely coordinated development between the two markets. During his visit to Hong Kong, Wu Qing met with John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and also held discussions with Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of Hong Kong, as well as the Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission, Tim Lui, and CEO, Ashley Alder, along with Charles Li, Chairman of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and CEO, Nicolas Aguzin, to exchange views on topics such as deepening practical cooperation in the capital markets and strengthening Hong Kong's status as an international financial center. In addition, Wu Qing also conducted an on-site investigation in the Northern Metropolis of Hong Kong.
