Two departments: Layout a number of independent new-type energy storage stations on the power grid side that can assume the role of peak supply guarantee.

The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration have issued the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Construction of a New Power System," which proposes to establish a number of independent new energy storage stations on the grid side that can support peak supply capacity. There will be an increased application of technologies such as grid-forming, fully unleashing the multiple capabilities of new energy storage for peak shaving, frequency modulation, voltage regulation, standby for accidents, ramp-up, and black start. During the "14th Five-Year" period, about 80 million kilowatts of independent new energy storage capacity that can support peak supply will be added nationwide, with an aim to achieve an equivalent peak duration of 4 hours. By 2030, the independent new energy storage capacity that can support peak supply will reach 140 million kilowatts.
