U.S. lawmaker says Trump's Iran policy is erratic.
On August 2, local time, U.S. Democratic Senator Mark Kelly pointed out in an interview with CBS's "Face the Nation" that President Trump has been acting too erratically and that the Trump administration has "gotten stuck" in dealing with the war in Iran. Kelly also stated that the Trump administration must take responsibility for the current situation and find a way forward, but cannot repeat the old path of "having no goals, no plans, and no timeline." He suggested that Trump should not let his "real estate partners and son-in-law" handle the negotiations, and should instead involve people who truly understand how to negotiate with Iran, as well as work to re-unite allies in the overseas region and Europe.
