The reporter learned today that the International Organization for Standardization has recently approved the establishment of the Secretariat of the Technical Committee on Artificial Snow and Ice Landscape in China. This is the first ISO technical body secretariat that China has undertaken in the field of ice and snow. The scope of work for the Secretariat of the Technical Committee on Artificial Snow and Ice Landscape includes the international standardization of safety, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and sustainable development of artificial snow and ice landscape structures. Planned work includes foundational general standards related to terminology, design principles, and frameworks for artificial snow and ice landscapes, as well as technical standards for construction and management standards for safety and protection specifications and sustainable management systems. The establishment of the secretariat in China is a significant breakthrough in the international standardization of the country's ice and snow sector. It will facilitate the effective connection between China's advanced technical achievements in artificial snow and ice landscape construction technology, safety management, and sustainable development with international standards, providing technical support for the global enjoyment of artificial snow and ice landscapes. This initiative aims to break temporal and spatial limitations, allowing the charm of ice and snow to transcend seasons and spread across the world, further activating the global ice and snow economy. China will join hands with member countries to make greater contributions to the international standardization development in this field.
