The President of Armenia has appointed Pashinyan as the Prime Minister of the country.
On August 2, local time, Armenian President Hachaturyan signed a decree reappointing Pashinyan as Prime Minister of the country. Earlier that day, President Hachaturyan accepted the resignation of Pashinyan's government. On July 30, Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan stated at a government meeting that the current government would collectively resign on August 2, as the new parliament had been formed. According to the Armenian constitution, after the government's resignation, the president will appoint a prime minister candidate nominated by the parliamentary majority.
