A snowstorm in Pakistan has resulted in one Chinese citizen being reported missing. Our embassy urges the Pakistani side to spare no effort in search and rescue operations.

On July 30, an international climbing team went missing after encountering an avalanche on Broad Peak in the Karakoram Mountains. On August 1, the consular office of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan confirmed to a reporter from the General Station that among those missing from the climbing team was one Chinese citizen. The embassy stated that after the incident occurred, it had activated its emergency consular protection mechanism, maintained close contact with relevant departments of the Pakistani side, urged them to make every effort to search for and rescue the missing Chinese citizen, and requested timely updates on the progress of the search and rescue efforts.
