On July 24, the National Cultural Relics Bureau held a national symposium on museum construction and management in Tianjin. The meeting focused on in-depth implementation of the important instructions and directives from the central leadership on museum construction and operation management, and exchanged and discussed the comprehensive implementation of the relevant requirements of the National Cultural Relics Bureau, National Development and Reform Commission, and Ministry of Finance on strengthening museum construction management. Tang Wei, Deputy Director of the National Cultural Relics Bureau, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting pointed out that strengthening museum construction management is an important measure to implement the important instructions and directives of General Secretary Xi Jinping, meet the high-quality cultural needs of the people, and achieve high-quality development of the museum industry. It is necessary to thoroughly grasp the core requirements of strengthening museum construction management, firmly establish and practice the correct political achievements view, strengthen overall planning on the basis of seeking truth from facts, strengthen scientific argumentation, strictly control admission, strengthen supervision and inspection, and effectively strengthen museum construction management. At the same time, cultural relics departments at all levels should strengthen the management of collection protection, increase resource coordination and scheduling, innovate funding mechanisms, and strengthen the construction of talent teams to provide a foundation and guarantee for the high-quality development of museums. After the meeting, local authorities should do a good job in policy dissemination, clarify the main responsibilities, strengthen departmental coordination, enhance supervision and guidance, and ensure the implementation of the spirit of the documents.
