According to the Yonhap News Agency, South Korean Minister of Science and Technology Park Young-sun stated that he plans to depart for Silicon Valley in the United States later on Thursday local time. After meeting with the CEOs of local telecommunications operators in downtown Seoul, Park Young-sun stated that the focus of this visit is to "strengthen cooperation to encourage major tech companies to invest in South Korea." He mentioned that discussions will revolve around AI cooperation, market expansion, AI data centers, and the semiconductor field. Park Young-sun also stated that he plans to use this visit to promote South Korea's AI ecosystem and described this trip as a summit aimed at showcasing the strength of "K-AI" (Korean Artificial Intelligence) to the global community. Park Young-sun departed for San Francisco on Thursday evening and held meetings with representatives from major U.S. tech companies including Broadcom, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Nvidia.
