Ministry of Commerce: Will impose a 55% tariff on imported beef from Brazil.

The Ministry of Commerce has issued an implementation reminder for the 2026 beef safeguard measures. Beef imported from Brazil under the beef safeguard measures reached 80% of the specified quantity in the country's regulations as of July 21, 2026, as stated in Ministry of Commerce Announcement No. 87 of 2025. According to Ministry of Commerce Announcement No. 87 of 2025, an additional 55% tariff will be imposed on top of the current applicable tariff rates starting on the third day after the beef import quantity reaches the specified quantity of 100%.
