Commercial data monitoring company Creditorwatch stated that despite soaring fuel costs, rising interest rates, and high inflation rates, the number of business bankruptcies in Australia decreased by 3.9% in the year ending June 30. The company said that this decline was supported by the income tax relief in 2024 and the interest rate cut in 2025, providing support for high-risk industries such as construction and hotels. The company added that despite this, trade defaults and tax debts are once again on the rise, indicating increasing pressure. The company stated that even one trade default can significantly increase the risk of bankruptcy in the next 12 months, reaching more than 10 times the national average level.
