On July 21, the website of the Longyan Education Bureau showed that Zhang Yiming, the founder of ByteDance, donated another 300 million yuan to the Fangmei Public Welfare Fund to support education and medical development in his hometown. Specifically, Zhang Yiming made an additional donation of 200 million yuan to the Fangmei Education Development Fund to support astronomy popular science education, student interest cultivation, education informatization construction in his hometown Longyan City, Fujian Province, as well as to improve the infrastructure of some schools in Yongding District and Shanghang County. In addition, an additional 100 million yuan will be used to support the training of medical personnel and the improvement of medical equipment in local medical institutions in Longyan.
