The working group of the Ministry of Natural Resources continues to conduct emergency investigation and monitoring in Pengshui.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, from July 19th to 20th, the front working group of the Ministry of Natural Resources, together with local experts, continued to carry out emergency monitoring and investigation at the site of a mountain collapse in Pengshui County, Chongqing, to prevent secondary disasters. Academic experts were on site all day to guide the local authorities in conducting geological safety risk assessments in the surrounding areas. It is also understood that Chongqing has initiated a special investigation on geological disasters throughout the city, with 776 professional and technical personnel assigned in each district and county to focus on inspecting areas with high geological risks, densely populated areas, major transportation routes, tourist attractions, and registered geological disaster-prone areas. As of July 19th, Chongqing has identified 4211 locations at risk of geological disasters.
