Chinese AI company Yue Zhi An Mian released a new generation model Kimi K3 on July 16, with a parameter scale of 2.8 trillion, making it currently the world's largest open-source model in terms of parameters, attracting wide attention in the industry. According to Yue Zhi An Mian, Kimi K3 natively supports visual understanding, has a context window of 1 million words, and is optimized for complex task scenarios such as software engineering, knowledge work, deep research, and multimodal understanding, further enhancing the processing capabilities of large models for complex tasks. In addition, like most domestic AI products, Kimi K3 is priced lower and open source, allowing developers to customize it as needed. According to Agence France-Presse, shortly after the release of Kimi K3, it quickly topped the list of AI code tools in the industry's highly anticipated Arena, marking the first time a large Chinese model has taken the top spot on the list. Arena's operational director Angelopoulos said that Kimi K3 may force investors to re-examine the entire AI industry, and this release is likely to "shake up the capital market" because it "challenges the dominant position of closed-source models like OpenAI and Anthropic in the United States".
