Former Intel CEO said he didn't see the value of NVIDIA's GPU at the time.
Former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger admitted the day before yesterday during an All-InPodcast podcast that when Intel dominated the industry, the company looked down on NVIDIA's GPU products. He said, "At that time, Huang Renxun was indeed just building high-performance computing devices. When Intel's CPU was at its peak, we really looked down on his products. We thought it was just a GPU, just something for gaming enthusiasts." However, things took a turn later on, and Gelsinger continued, "After that, NVIDIA started building around the GPU, creating CUDA, SIMT, and other truly mature software stacks. This long-term improvement of products is quite similar to the way Steve Jobs did it."
