On July 16th, the signing ceremony of the establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization was held in Shanghai. Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended and signed the agreement on behalf of the Chinese government. The agreement specifies that the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization is an independent intergovernmental international organization, adhering to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, upholding the concept of consultation, joint construction and shared benefits, adhering to the principle of putting people first, aiming to promote international cooperation and global governance in artificial intelligence, ensuring that artificial intelligence develops in a beneficial, safe and fair manner, benefiting all of humanity. The headquarters of the organization is located in Shanghai, China. Representatives from 29 countries, including the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Laos, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office of Russia, and the Minister of Economic Planning of Indonesia, signed the agreement and became founding members. The Secretary-General of the United Nations and representatives of other countries and international organizations attended the ceremony.
