The United States establishes an AI and cybersecurity coordination group to promote the sharing of vulnerability information between leading enterprises and critical service organizations.
The White House announced the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Coordination Group on July 15th, aiming to promote the sharing of cutting-edge model discoveries in software and infrastructure vulnerabilities between major AI model developers and key service organizations in finance, healthcare, energy, among others, and coordinate repair work to avoid duplication of effort. The group will also incorporate open model developers. This arrangement implements an executive order signed by Trump in June, jointly promoted by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the National Cyber Director's Office, the Department of Defense, and the National Security Agency. This move indicates that the U.S. government is strengthening the coordinated use of AI cybersecurity capabilities and promoting the integration of cutting-edge models from vulnerability discovery tools into critical infrastructure protection systems.
