National Bureau of Statistics: China's daily average chip production exceeded 1.5 billion in the first half of the year.
Wang Guanhua, spokesperson of the National Bureau of Statistics and head of the Department of Comprehensive Economic Statistics, stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on July 15 that in the first half of the year, the value added of large-scale high-tech manufacturing industries and digital product manufacturing industries increased by 13.3% and 12.3% respectively, both faster than the first quarter. In particular, the demand for high-end computing chips and storage chips brought about by the global artificial intelligence technology revolution exploded. In the first half of the year, the output of integrated circuits of large-scale industrial enterprises in China increased by 23.1%, with a production scale reaching 279.8 billion pieces. This number is very large, averaging more than 1.5 billion integrated circuits produced every day. Integrated circuits, commonly known as chips, are widely used in smart equipment and electronic products. The output of more than 1.5 billion chips per day is not only a numerical update, but also a vivid depiction of the driving force behind the development of China's semiconductor industry.
