OpenAI responds to Apple's commercial secret lawsuit: Lawsuit has no factual basis.
On July 14th, local time, OpenAI stated that there is no evidence to support Apple's lawsuit regarding trade secrets. OpenAI said that the company takes the allegations seriously but believes in fair competition and the free flow of talent, and will continue to focus on developing innovative technology independently. Apple sued OpenAI last week, accusing its hardware team of recruiting former Apple employees to obtain trade secrets related to AI hardware devices, and claiming that some employees illegally obtained internal engineering data before leaving to support OpenAI's next-generation AI hardware development. OpenAI has stated that they are not interested in other companies' trade secrets and will focus on independent research and development.
