National Healthcare Security Administration: 601 drugs to undergo formulary review for the adjustment of the medical insurance list by 2026.
The National Medical Insurance Administration today released a list of drug names for formal review of the adjustment of the National Basic Medical Insurance, Maternity Insurance, and Work-related Injury Insurance drug catalogues, as well as the commercial health insurance innovative drug catalogue for the year 2026. During the 2026 catalogue adjustment application phase, the National Medical Insurance Administration received a total of 800 submissions for the basic medical insurance catalogue, involving 664 drug generic names. Ultimately, 601 passed the formal review, with 368 being outside the catalogue and 233 being within the catalogue, resulting in an overall pass rate of 91%. A total of 62 submissions for the commercial insurance innovative drug catalogue were received, involving 62 drug generic names. Ultimately, 58 passed the formal review, with 57 being outside the catalogue and 1 being within the catalogue, resulting in an overall pass rate of 94%. The formal review is the initial step in the adjustment of the medical insurance drug catalogue. Passing the formal review only means that the drug meets the corresponding application conditions and qualifies for expert evaluation, not that it has already been included in the catalogue.
