Sichuan Province experiences heavy rain in many areas, prompting the emergency evacuation of 60,000 people.
From 8:00 on July 11th to 8:00 on July 12th, heavy to torrential rain fell in areas such as Leshan, Ya'an, Mianyang, Yibin, Meishan, Liangshan, Deyang, and Panzhihua in Sichuan Province, with locally heavy rain and the largest rainfall reaching 154 millimeters at Emeishan station in Leshan City. At 17:00 on the 11th, the Sichuan Department of Natural Resources and the Sichuan Meteorological Bureau jointly issued a yellow warning for geological disaster meteorological risk, involving 11 cities and 51 counties including Chengdu, Panzhihua, Deyang, Mianyang, Leshan, Meishan, Yibin, Ya'an, Aba Prefecture, Ganzi Prefecture, and Liangshan Prefecture. Currently, the heavy rainfall has caused 8 geological disasters in Ganzi, Sichuan and 1 in Ya'an, with no casualties reported and preventive measures have been taken. From 7:00 on July 11th to 7:00 on July 12th, a total of 62,319 people were evacuated in advance from 72 counties in 12 cities in Sichuan. According to statistics, since the start of the flood season, a total of 362,197 people have been evacuated in advance across Sichuan Province.
