Since the beginning of this year, the total precipitation in Beijing has been 73% higher than the same period in a typical year.
According to data from the Beijing Meteorological Observatory, from 8 a.m. on the 11th to 8 a.m. on the 12th, the average precipitation in the entire city was 64.3 millimeters. The average precipitation in Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai, Shijingshan, Dongcheng, and Xicheng was 50.8 millimeters, while in Tongzhou and Daxing it was 121.4 millimeters, in Miyun, Shunyi, Pinggu, and Huairou it was 74.5 millimeters, in Yanqing and Changping it was 47.9 millimeters, and in Mentougou and Fangshan it was 34.3 millimeters. The highest precipitation intensity occurred at the southwest sub-observatory in Daxing District, with 94.4 millimeters of precipitation between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. on the 12th.
