SK Hynix CEO Lee Seok-hee stated that from a supply perspective, 2027 will be the worst year in the memory shortage cycle, with customer demand expected to exceed supply capacity even after 2030. Lee Seok-hee said that the United States is on the list of future wafer fab site candidates, but the company has not made a decision yet. Lee Seok-hee said that SK Hynix will prioritize locations that can provide enough land, electricity, water, and skilled workers at competitive single manufacturing costs, stating that "if these conditions are met, the United States, Japan, and Southeast Asia are all under consideration."
