On July 10th, Novo Nordisk China announced that the National Medical Products Administration of China approved the updated label for semaglutide tablets. NovoLog is the world's first oral glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist and is currently marketed in 48 countries and regions. It has been approved in China for blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes. According to the company, this update is based on the major results of the SOUL study: in adults with type 2 diabetes and concomitant cardiovascular disease and/or chronic kidney disease, the drug can reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events by 14%.
