Mass plans to restructure German factories on a large scale, or cut tens of thousands of jobs.

Volkswagen is considering shutting down multiple factories in Germany, with this major restructuring plan potentially affecting around 40,000 jobs. The production lines at Wolfsburg and Emden factories may be stopped within five years, the Hanover factory is scheduled to close in 2032, and the Audi Neckarsulm factory is set to cease production in 2034. In addition, there are reports that CEO Oliver Blume plans to reduce 50,000 jobs by 2030.
