Ministry of Commerce: Over 6,000 pilot projects for "new consumption" are expected to drive over 300 billion yuan in investment.

On July 9th, Deputy Director of the Department of Trade in Services of the Ministry of Commerce, Zuo Xiaobo, stated that the 50 pilot cities for new consumer formats, models, and scenarios have basically completed the formulation of funding project management measures and the collection of initial projects. Various regions have actively submitted innovative consumer projects, with over 6,000 related projects already collected, expected to drive social investment of over 300 billion yuan. The first batch of 8.6 billion yuan in support funds is being gradually disbursed, and a large number of new consumer formats, models, and scenarios projects are accelerating implementation, with a noticeable impact on consumption. In September of last year, the "Three News" consumer pilot officially launched to support 50 cities to carry out pilot work, mainly focusing on large and mega-cities with large populations, strong driving effects, and good development potential. The policy implementation period is two years.
