On the 9th, the reporter learned from the Guangdong Provincial Hydrology Bureau that due to the upstream inflow, the division of floodwaters at Sixian Jiao, and the tidal impact downstream, the water level of the main stream of the Xijiang River has been rising continuously in recent days. Currently, the entire main stream of Xijiang River in Guangdong Province has reached the peak water level. From the evening of the 8th to the early morning of the 9th, flood peak water levels appeared at stations such as Zhaoqing Fengkai Jiangkou, Deqing, Gaoyao, Yunfu Ducheng Datian, and Liudu Datian, with the Jiangkou station, Ducheng Datian station, and Deqing station exceeding the warning water levels by 2.16 meters, 1.37 meters, and 1.02 meters, respectively. Currently, the Guangdong Provincial Hydrology Bureau continues to monitor the dynamic development of rainfall, strengthen hydrological monitoring and water situation consultations, release rolling forecasts, warnings, and risk alerts, and do well in flood prevention and hydrological reporting work. Hydrology experts remind that the water level of the Xijiang River is still high, the embankments along the river have been submerged for a long time, and there may be risks during the water recession period, so flood prevention work must continue to be carried out.
