APEC Technology Towards Goodness Seminar Opens in Qianhai, Shenzhen

On July 8th, the APEC Workshop on Technology Ethics officially opened in the Qianhai-Shekou Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone in Shenzhen. This workshop is an important project implemented under the APEC Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Partnership mechanism, attracting representatives from 17 APEC member economies, international organization experts, and guests from industry, academia, and research to participate in in-depth exchanges on the core theme of "technology ethics". The first day of the conference included an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, and parallel forums. Participants shared their respective economies' practical experiences and policy considerations on frontier topics such as market incentives, algorithm fairness and ethical review, and inclusive design. The on-site discussions were lively, and various parties reached a broad consensus on the issues of fairness and inclusivity in technological development.
