The national power system in Cuba has restored electricity supply.
The Cuban Electricity Alliance stated on social media on the 8th that all provinces in Cuba had been reconnected to the national power grid early that morning, and nationwide electricity supply had been restored. The Cuban Electricity Alliance had announced on social media on the 6th that there had been a complete blackout in the Cuban electricity system. Due to the impact of US sanctions, Cuba has long struggled to import fuel and the necessary equipment to repair its severely aging power plants, leading to a tight nationwide electricity supply. Since October 2024, Cuba has experienced several nationwide blackouts due to power facility malfunctions, hurricanes, and other reasons.
