Argentina announces the revocation of the Ministry of the Interior

The Argentine government announced on the 2nd that it is revoking the Ministry of Interior and transferring its functions to the office of the Chief of Cabinet. In a decree issued late on the 2nd, the office of the Chief of Cabinet will officially take over responsibilities such as coordinating relations with provinces and handling cross-border affairs that were previously carried out by the Ministry of Interior, and will also manage tourism, environment, sports, science and technology affairs at the federal level. Additionally, the decree establishes two Deputy Chief of Cabinet positions to assist the Chief of Cabinet.
