Samsung wins Meta's over 10 trillion won AI chip foundry order, with long-term pent-up orders for 2nm chips expected to rise.
On July 3rd, it was reported that Samsung Electronics is becoming a core production base for AI chips for global tech companies, with long-term backlog orders expected to approach 50 trillion Korean won. Meta is reportedly advancing cooperation with Samsung foundry to design and produce the next generation ASIC with a value of over 10 trillion Korean won. Its self-developed AI accelerator "MTIA" has locked in Samsung as a partner and plans to mass produce hundreds of thousands of sets using 2-nanometer cutting-edge technology. Meanwhile, the American AI giant Anthropic is also evaluating the use of its 2-nanometer technology to develop chips.
