Russian Deputy Prime Minister Novak recently instructed Russian relevant departments and companies to develop specific measures to stabilize fuel supply in the areas facing the most severe shortages. According to TASS news agency on the 2nd, Novak stated that Russia has sufficient fuel reserves to meet domestic market demand, but panic buying has led to a 20% to 30% increase in demand. Shortages of oil products at certain gas stations are due to logistics adjustments by refineries to specific oil depots and gas stations, and it will take time to readjust the logistics system. He also stated that in order to ensure domestic supply, Russia may impose a short-term ban on diesel fuel exports. Russian President Putin recently said at a meeting on the domestic fuel supply situation that the consequences of Ukrainian attacks on Russian civilian facilities and infrastructure must be minimized. Putin said that currently, large Russian refineries are operating at full capacity and the potential of small and medium-sized enterprises is being fully exploited. It is expected that primary fuel production in July will exceed that of June. To protect the interests of domestic consumers, Russia has temporarily banned the export of gasoline and some fuels, and is considering a comprehensive ban on diesel exports.
