At the second Silicon Photovoltaic Industry Innovation Summit held today, a representative from the China Photovoltaic Industry Association stated that mandatory safety and energy efficiency standards for photovoltaic modules are beneficial for regulating the competition order in the photovoltaic industry and promoting industry upgrading and development. Next, the association will, according to the requirements of the mandatory standards, cooperate with relevant authorities to further study the specific implementation rules of energy-saving supervision. The photovoltaic industry having a "yardstick" is a good start, as central SOEs have already adopted standards of level two or above. Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in conjunction with the National Development and Reform Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation, issued three mandatory national energy efficiency standards, including "Energy Consumption Limit for Silicon Single Crystal Unit Product," which will officially take effect on January 1, 2027; and two mandatory national safety standards, including the "Safety Requirements for Photovoltaic Modules," organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which were officially released on May 25, 2027, and will take effect on June 1, 2027.
