The 2nd flood of Le'an River in Jiangxi occurred in 2026.
Affected by rainfall, the water level of Xiangtun hydrological station on Le'an River in the Poyang Lake system in Jiangxi Province rose to 38.01 meters at 23:00 on July 1st, exceeding the warning level by 0.01 meters. According to the rules for the numbering of major river floods, this flood event is designated as "Le'an River No. 2 Flood of 2026". On June 30th, Li Guoying, Deputy Commander of the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and Minister of Water Resources, held a special meeting to make arrangements for flood defense in the Poyang Lake system. The Ministry of Water Resources is closely monitoring the development of floods in the Le'an River and other rivers, and has issued a "one province, one plan" to the Jiangxi Provincial Water Resources Department, reminding them to ensure the safety of reservoirs during the flood season, prevent floods in small and medium-sized rivers, prevent mountain floods and urban waterlogging. The Jiangxi Provincial Water Resources Department has maintained a level four emergency response for flood defense, conducting rolling assessments of risks and sending expert teams to assist with flood defense efforts in places like Shangrao.
