With food prices continuing to rise, American supermarkets are offering discounts on the eve of Independence Day to compete for consumer spending, with analysts saying this could impact profit margins. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics stated on June 10th that in the 12 months ending in May, overall food prices rose by 3.1%. Among them, home food prices rose by 2.7% and eating out prices rose by 3.5%.
