Micron and General Motors Sign Long-Term Strategic Supply Agreement for In-Vehicle Storage

Micron Technology and General Motors have reached a strategic cooperation agreement, providing long-term stable supply guarantee of memory and storage platforms for General Motors' vehicle production. General Motors will purchase low-power memory, NOR flash memory, and UFS NAND flash memory products. Micron will invest $2 billion to upgrade and renovate its Manassas wafer fab in Virginia. The Manassas plant is scheduled to start production in the first half of 2026. Micron will collaborate with General Motors to jointly develop next-generation memory and storage technologies that meet the future needs of vehicle models.
