Children are quickly embracing artificial intelligence.
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) released a statement on June 30th stating that children are rapidly embracing artificial intelligence. Through the analysis of the latest data from 10 countries, UNICEF estimates that at least 20 million children globally have already used artificial intelligence, and many children are adopting artificial intelligence at a rate more than three times faster than adults. More and more children around the world are starting to use artificial intelligence, but the governance rules for artificial intelligence, including measures to protect children, have not kept pace. Children are more likely to come into contact with artificial intelligence systems, but they lack the ability to effectively avoid or question these systems. In these 10 countries, one-third of the children surveyed are concerned that artificial intelligence will be used for fraud or spreading false information, and one-fourth of the children are concerned that their images or videos will be altered into inappropriate content.
