Directed by Luca Guadagnino and featuring a star-studded cast, the film "Artificial Intelligence" focusing on Sam Altman and OpenAI had its distribution rights acquired by the independent film distribution company Neon after being abandoned by Amazon's MGM Studios. Neon announced on Tuesday that after multiple rounds of bidding, the company successfully purchased the distribution rights to the film. This nearly completed film, with a budget of $40 million, stars Andrew Garfield as Sam Altman. Earlier this month, Amazon suddenly announced that they would no longer distribute the film, just a few months after announcing a $500 million investment in OpenAI. Amazon at the time stated that launching "Artificial Intelligence" with a different distributor would be more beneficial for the film's development. Neon revealed on Tuesday that "Artificial Intelligence" is scheduled for release this year and will aim for this year's Oscars. The film follows the story of Sam Altman, who is reinstated as the CEO of OpenAI in 2023 after being dismissed, with Monica Barbaro, Yura Baryshev, and Oscar winner Mark Rylance starring, and Ike Barinholtz playing Elon Musk in the film.
