Announcement of the Entry and Exit Administration of the People's Republic of China on the Approval Conditions for Mainland Residents to Settle in Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions
Starting from July 1, 2026, the approval conditions for mainland residents to settle in the Hong Kong and Macau regions are as follows:
1. Reunion with spouses and accompanying children: The applicant must have been separated from their spouse in Hong Kong or Macau for at least 3 years;
2. Children joining parents: The applicant is under 18 years old and both parents are settled in Hong Kong or Macau;
3. Children caring for parents: The applicant is aged 18 to 59, and both parents are settled in Hong Kong or Macau, both parents are over 60 and have no children in Hong Kong or Macau;
4. Parents joining children: The applicant is over 60 years old and has no children in mainland China, while the children settled in Hong Kong or Macau are over 18 years old. The public security immigration authorities will approve the applications of mainland residents to settle in the Hong Kong and Macau regions according to the settlement quota and approval conditions. If applicants need to know specific information, they can consult the Immigration Management Service Hotline "12367" or contact the public security immigration authorities at their place of permanent residence.
