There are casualties in the landslide on the mountainside by the national highway in Wenchuan.

On June 27, there was a mountain landslide near a national road leading from Wolong Town, Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province to Mount Siguniang, with large rocks falling. At around 4 pm, it was reported by the Wolong Town government that there were casualties and injuries, and there may be further rockfalls in that section of the road. Wenchuan County government officials stated that they have received reports of injuries and deaths, and the specific investigation and handling will be carried out by the townships. According to the Wenchuan police, the slope on that section of the road is still collapsing and there is a risk of falling rocks, so in order to ensure the safety of people and vehicles passing through, temporary traffic control measures were implemented starting from 3 pm, closing the road completely.
