UN official: Over 50,000 people missing in Venezuela after a powerful earthquake.
On the 26th local time, Tom Fletcher, the Deputy Secretary-General in charge of humanitarian affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator of the United Nations, stated that more than 50,000 people have gone missing after a strong earthquake in Venezuela. He believes that the death toll "may increase significantly". Fletcher said, "Currently, more than 50,000 people are missing, and more than 500 people have died; therefore, searching in the rubble is a daunting task."
