The 67th meeting of the APEC Tourism Working Group was held in Macao.

Journalists learned from the government of the Macao Special Administrative Region on the 26th that the 67th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Tourism Working Group meeting was held in Macao on June 24th and 25th. The meeting focused on the current implementation of the four priority areas of the APEC Tourism Strategy Plan - digital transformation, human capital development, tourism facilitation and competitiveness, and sustainable tourism and economic growth. Representatives from participating economies discussed work plans and held special discussions on the digital transformation of the tourism industry. China's Macao attended as a "guest economy". The head of the Macao delegation to the 67th APEC Tourism Working Group meeting, Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, introduced the Macao Special Administrative Region Government's "1+4" moderately diversified economic development strategy, the deepening of "tourism+" cross-border integration development, and the promotion of Macao's cooperation with the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in tourism development. During the meeting, the organizers also arranged for the experience of Chinese and Portuguese cultural characteristic clothing and workshops, and organized representatives from participating economies to experience the unique charm of the World Heritage Site "Macao Historic Center" and the "Creative City - Gastronomy Capital". The APEC Tourism Working Group was established in 1991 and holds two meetings each year, aiming to provide a platform for information sharing and exchange of views for the tourism authorities of member economies to promote tourism trade cooperation and development across regions. Macao, China officially became a "guest economy" of the working group in 2001, with permanent representatives from the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Economic and Technological Development Bureau attending meetings.
