The investment in the power grid during the "15th Five-Year Plan" will increase by more than 30% compared to the "14th Five-Year Plan".
The State Council Information Office held a press conference today. Wang Hongzhi, a member of the party group of the National Development and Reform Commission and director of the National Energy Administration, said that in the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" for energy, there are both large-scale projects for energy production and transmission, and new projects that reflect the new quality of energy production. Wang Hongzhi introduced that investment in oil and gas, coal, supportive power sources, and coal-to-oil and gas will maintain a stable and rising trend in the future, with a total investment scale in the next five years increasing by more than 10% compared to the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan". In addition, the status of new energy will be more prominent, with the proportion of investment in power generation increasing to nearly 60%. On the electricity grid side, the construction of inter-provincial transmission corridors, inter-provincial power mutual aid projects, the main power grid, distribution grids, and intelligent microgrids will make the power system more resilient and resource allocation more efficient. Electricity grid investment in the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" will increase by more than 30% compared to the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan".
