WeChat response: deleting each other's interactions on Moments will make them invisible
On June 26th, WeChat officially released a post about "little-known facts about Moments", answering some questions that are frequently discussed on social media. Regarding the question "After deleting a friend, do their interactions on your Moments still exist?", WeChat responded: It depends on whether the parting was "one-sided" or "mutual". If you delete the other person, the past interactions remain the same in both parties' perspectives. They may not even notice until one day they try to send you a message and see a red exclamation mark. But what if both of you delete each other? The likes and comments from the other person will disappear from your Moments. Your replies will still be there, but all traces of the other person will be removed. Regarding the design of friend groups on Moments, WeChat explained: WeChat has never socialized for you. Whether or not to group friends is up to you; it doesn't judge the closeness of your relationships for you. Deleting or keeping traces is up to the two individuals; it doesn't make one-sided conclusions for you. It only provides tools, not answers, because the answers should be yours in the first place.
