On June 26, Wang Junjie, the executive secretary of the China Semiconductor Industry Association, stated at the 2026 China (Shenzhen) Integrated Circuit Summit that in the first quarter of this year, the Chinese integrated circuit industry deviated from traditional cyclical characteristics. The industry saw a strong start in 2026, with shipments almost on par with the fourth quarter of last year. According to statistics, the domestic integrated circuit manufacturing industry had a rare leading industry growth rate in the first quarter; institutions predict that the global semiconductor industry is expected to exceed $1.5 trillion this year. On the other hand, there is a structural imbalance in supply and demand in the industry, with a significant increase in the performance of memory factories and an increase in prices for wafer foundries and testing and packaging services. End-use manufacturers such as smartphone companies are facing profit pressure.
