According to three sources familiar with internal discussions at OpenAI quoted by The New York Times, OpenAI is leaning towards postponing its IPO until next year. The sources revealed that OpenAI had originally planned to conduct its IPO in the third or fourth quarter of this year. The company's CEO, Altman, urged financial advisors to find ways to increase the company's valuation to $1 trillion. However, recent developments have forced OpenAI's executives to abandon their initial ambitious plans. Of particular concern is the performance of SpaceX, owned by Musk, after its IPO earlier this month. SpaceX's stock price has been declining recently, closing at $153 on Thursday after reaching a high of $202 last week. According to two sources familiar with the matter, advisors at OpenAI warned the company in the past week that retail investors may not show much enthusiasm for the company's stock.
