United Nations Secretary-General's spokesperson Dujarric issued a statement on the 25th, saying that the United Nations mission in Venezuela is mobilizing aid resources and collaborating with the Venezuelan government and partners to support Venezuela in responding to the earthquake disaster. The statement said that preliminary reports indicate that multiple areas in Venezuela, including the capital Caracas, have been severely damaged by earthquakes, with significant casualties and some people still trapped or missing. At the same time, critical infrastructure in the country has been damaged, leading to interruptions in basic services. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs is assisting in deploying urban search and rescue teams.
