Hengrui Pharmaceuticals announced that its subsidiary Chengdu Shengdi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has received a notice from the National Medical Products Administration that the company's product Cyclosporine Eye Drops has been approved for marketing. This is China's first and only 0.1% water-free cyclosporine eye drops, which can promote tear secretion in dry eye patients. The product was introduced from Novaliq and developed based on the EyeSol platform, with a 17.6-fold increase in bioavailability compared to the water-based 0.05% cyclosporine. As of now, approximately 103 million yuan has been invested in the research and development of the project. The production and sales of the drug may be affected by uncertain factors.
